Two kinds of hunger wil never be satisfied : the insatiable desire of acquiring knowledge and the hunger of wealth
One who thinks he is better then is worse
There is no way to worship God better than though meditataion
A little knowlegde is better than too much worship
Ignore noblemen's slips
To lose opportunity results in grievence
He who is ill natured hurts himself

Poem About Imam Mahdi Oh how I wish for enough air to outlive these days To be able to see his face appear at mecca's grace Oh how i wish to be one of those great men Who will be there that day, fighting with sword and pen
Hope is gone from me, for pure I am not. Deserve to see that beauties face I do not Though Allah knows that ready I'll be, you'll see! Countless my sins are, yet from the battlefield i will not flee
313 they are counted for they say and tell 314 i wish to be, my soul to the Shaytan i will not sell By the owner of Time i will stand, either close or far He would do the same for Allah, travel to any pointed star
He is what time has grown old to see You are promised the highest sky, what becomes of us and me? Without you free from worries we are By Allah, that feeling is counterfeit, imprisoned we are.
Wherever you are now at this state Tell Allah we are sorry, that while you wait, we are late. Stuck to the sugar of this worlds honey we are Tell Allah we are sorry, for what we have become to be.
Farewell oh friend of Allah, for we die and you live on May Allah keep you from grief, that we on this earth sewed upon Inshallah we will meet one day, here or there May Allah forgive us, for not being sincere

A young man was getting ready to graduate college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted
As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his graduation his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box
Curious, but somewhat disappointed the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible. Angrily he raised his voice at his father and said, "With all your money you give me a Bible?" and stormed out of the house, leaving the holy book
Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business
He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care things When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart
He began to search his father's important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. As he read those words, a car key dropped from an envelope taped behind the Bible
It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation and the words...PAID IN FULL How many times do we miss God's blessings because they are not packaged as we expected

MOMENTS IN LIFE
There are moments in life when you miss someone
so much that you just want to pick them from
your dreams and hug them for real
When the door of happiness closes, another opens
But often times we look so long at the
Closed door that we don't see the one
Which has been opened for us
Don't go for looks; they can deceive
Don't go for wealth; even that fades away
Go for someone who makes you smile
Because it takes only a smile to
Make a dark day seem bright
Find the one that makes your heart smile
Dream what you want to dream
Go where you want to go
Be what you want to be
Because you have only one life
And one chance to do all the things
You want to do
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet
Enough trials to make you strong
Enough sorrow to keep you human and
Enough hope to make you happy
The happiest of people don't necessarily
Have the best of everything
They just make the most of
Everything that comes along their way
The brightest future will always
Be based on a forgotten past
You can't go forward in life until
You let go of your past failures and heartaches
When you were born, you were crying
And everyone around you was smiling
Live your life so at the end
You’re the one who is smiling and everyone
Around you is crying
Please send this message to those people
Who mean something to you (I JUST DID)
To those who have touched your life in one way or another
To those who make you smile when you really need it
To those who make you see the
Brighter side of things when you are really down
To those whose friendship you appreciate
To those who are so meaningful in your life
Don't count the years - count the memories

What I learned in life
I've learned that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved.The rest is up to them
I've learned
that no matter how much I care, some people just don't care back
I've learned
that it's not what you have in your life but who you have in your life that counts
I've learned
that you shouldn't compare yourself to the best others can do
I've learned
that you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life
I've learned
that it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be
I've learned
that you can keep going long after you can't
I've learned
that we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel
I've learned
that either you control your attitude or it controls you
I've learned
that regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, the passion fades and there had better be something else to take its place
I've learned
that heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences
I've learned
that my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the best time
I've learned
that sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're down will be the ones to help you get back up
I've learned
that sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel
I've learned
that maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated
I've learned
that you should never tell a child their dreams are unlikely or outlandish. Few things are more humiliating, and what a tragedy it would be if they believed it
I've learned
that your family won't always be there for you. It may seem funny, how people you aren't related to can take care of you and love you and teach you to trust people again. Families aren't always biological
I've learned that no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that
I've learned
that it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you are to learn to forgive yourself
I've learned
that no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for your grief
I've learned
that our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become
I've learned
that just because two people argue, it doesn't mean they don't love each other And just because they don't argue, it doesn't mean they do
I've learned
that we don't have to change friends if we understand that friends change
I've learned
that you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your life forever
I've learned
that two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different
I've learned
that no matter how you try to protect your children, they will eventually get hurt and you will hurt in the process
I've learned
that your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don't even know you
I've learned
that even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you, you will find the strength to help
I've learned
that credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being
I've learned
that the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon
I've learned
that it's hard to determine where to draw the line between being nice and not hurting people's feelings and standing up for what you believe

To laugh at yourself looking at mirror, making faces
Calls at midnight that last for hours
To laugh without a reason

To accidentally hear somebody say something good about you

To wake up and realize it is still possible to sleep for a couple of hours

To see people that you like, feeling happy
See an old friend again and to feel that the things have not changed

To take an evening walk along the beach
To have somebody tell you that he/she loves you
To laugh .......laugh. ........and laugh ...... remembering stupid things done with stupid friends
These are the best moments of life
Let us learn to cherish them
"Life is not a problem to be solved, but a gift to be enjoyed"

Hit is a small word but it has a lot of power. Baseball players hit the ball. Missiles hit an airplane. A car hits a tree
Hit also joins with other words to create many colorful expressions. One is hit the road. It means to travel or to leave a place, as suggested in this song, "Hit the Road."
(MUSIC)
Another common expression is hit the spot. At first it meant hitting a spot at the center of a target with an arrow. Someone who did so was satisfied with his shooting. Now, hitting the spot usually means that a food or drink is especially satisfying
Many years ago, Pepsi Cola sold its drink with a song that began, "Pepsi Cola hits the spot, twelve full ounces, that's a lot…"
Another expression involving hit is hit bottom. Something that has hit bottom can go no lower. If the price of shares of a stock hits bottom that might be the time to buy it. Its value can only go up
A student who tells you his grades have hit bottom is saying he has not done well in school
When a student's grades hit bottom it is time to hit the books. Hit the books is another way to saying it is time to study. A student might have to tell her friends she can not go with them to the movies because she has to hit the books
Not hitting the books could lead to an unpleasant situation for a student. The father or mother may hit the ceiling when they see the low grades. Someone who hits the ceiling, the top of the room, is violently angry. A wife may hit the ceiling because her husband forgot their wedding anniversary
To build something of wood, you usually need a hammer. That is what you use to hit nails into the pieces of wood to hold them together. When you hit the nail on the head, exactly on its top, it goes into the wood perfectly. And when someone says your words or actions hit the nail on the head, he means what you said or did was exactly right
If you are tired after hitting all those nails on the head, then it is time to hit the hay. That expression comes from the days when people slept on beds filled with dried grass or hay. Some people slept on hay in barns where they kept their farm animals
Hitting the hay simply means going to bed. That is a good idea. I think I will hit the hay now

People often say that money talks. They mean that a person with a lot of money can say how he or she wants things done. But it is not easy to earn enough money to gain this kind of power
Ask anyone in a business. They will tell you that it is a jungle out there. The expression probably began because the jungle is filled with wild animals and unknown dangers that threaten people. Sometimes people in business feel competing businesses are as dangerous as wild animals. And they feel that unknown dangers in the business world threaten the survival of their business
People in business have to be careful if they are to survive the jungle out there. They must not be led into making bogus investments. Bogus means something that is not real
Nobody is sure how the word got started. But it began to appear in American newspapers in the eighteen hundreds. A newspaper in Boston, Massachusetts, said the word came from a criminal whose name was Borghese. The newspaper said Borghese wrote checks to people although he did not have enough money in the bank. After he wrote the checks, he would flee from town. So, people who were paid with his checks received nothing. The newspaper said Americans shortened and changed the criminal's name Borghese, to bogus
People trying to earn money also must be aware of being ripped off. A person who is ripped off has had something stolen, or at least has been treated very unfairly
A writer for the magazine "American Speech" said he first saw the expression used in nineteen seventy-one. It was on a sign that a student carried during a protest demonstration at a university. The message on the sign was that the student felt ripped off, or cheated
Perhaps the best way to prevent getting ripped off in business is to not try to get rich quickly. To be successful, a person in business works hard and tries to get down to brass tacks
This expression means to get to the bottom or most important part of something. For example, a salesman may talk and talk about his product without saying the price. You get down to brass tacks when you say, "it sounds good, but how much does it cost"
Word expert Charles Funk thinks the expression comes from sailors on ships. They clean the bottom of a boat. When they have removed all the dirt, they are down to the brass tacks, the copper pieces that hold the boat together
So, if we get down to brass tacks, we can prevent ripoffs and bogus ways of earning money in that jungle out there. And, some good luck will help, too

Wealth with Virtue
The ancients said, “Money is something external to this physical body.” Everyone knows it,yet everyone pursues it. A young man seeks it to satisfy his desires; a young woman wants it for glamour and luxury; an elderly person goes after it to take care of himself in his old age; a learned person desires it for his reputation; a public official fulfills his duty for it, and so on Thus, everybody pursues it
Some people even compete and fight for it; those who are aggressive take risks for it; hottempered people resort to violence for it; jealous people might die for it in anger. It is the duty of the ruler and officials to bring wealth to the populace, yet promotion of money-worship is the worst policy one could adopt. Wealth without virtue (de) will harm all sentient beings, while wealth with virtue is what all people hope for. Therefore, one cannot be affluent without advocating virtue
Virtue is accumulated in past lives. Becoming a king, an official, wealthy, or nobility all come from virtue. No virtue, no gain; the loss of virtue means the loss of everything. Thus, those who seek power and wealth must first accumulate virtue. By suffering hardships and doing good deeds one can accumulate virtue among the masses. To achieve this, one must understand the principle of cause and effect. Knowing this can enable officials and the populace to exercise self-restraint, and prosperity and peace will thereby prevail under heaven

Kindly tell the tender deer, O morning breeze I am wandering your desert and the wild countries
Long live the sugar merchant, but why Is he unkind to sweet lovers, the honey-bees
Tender rose, pride in your goodness forbids To ask the manic nightingale of his fantasies
Only with gentle compassion can you trap the wise
The wise bird from any snare simply flees
I know not why there is no familiarity With the tall, black eye, bright faced beauties When in company of friends, glass of wine in hand Remember old companions who travel upon the breeze
The only criticism that I can have of you
For kindness, the beauties charge extortionate fees
No wonder if in the heavens, as claims Hafiz
Venus’ song brings Christ to dancing sprees

Alexander Fleming
His name was Fleming, and he was a poor Scottish farmer. One day, while trying to eke out a living for his family, he heard a cry for help coming from a nearby bog. He dropped his tools and ran to the bog. There, mired to his waist in black muck, was a terrified boy, screaming and struggling to free himself. Farmer Fleming saved the lad from what could have been a slow and terrifying death The next day, a fancy carriage pulled up to the Scotsman's sparse surroundings. An elegantly dressed nobleman stepped out and introduced himself as the father of the boy Farmer Fleming had saved "I want to repay you," said the nobleman. "You saved my son's life" "No, I can't accept payment for what I did," the Scottish farmer replied, waving off the offer. At that moment, the farmer's own son came to the door of the family hovel"Is that your son?" the nobleman asked. "Yes," the farmer replied proudly "I'll make you a deal. Let me take him and give him a good education If the lad is anything like his father, he'll grow to a man you can be proud of" And that he did. In time, Farmer Fleming's son graduated from St. Mary's Hospital Medical School in London, and went on to become known throughout the world as the noted Sir Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of Penicillin Years afterward, the nobleman's son was stricken with pneumonia What saved him? Penicillin The name of the nobleman? Lord Randolph Churchill His son's name? Sir Winston Churchill

A moment of glory called evolution
Could I see the world with the eyes of a child
A new begining, a moment of freedom
Like angles are singing a song full of joy
This side of heaven
Belongs to the children
I will be there, when the future arrives
A moment of glory called evolution
Could I fly away like a bird in the sky
No limitation, a new inspiration
A world that is free just as free as my mind
Communication
A new destination
The planet of vision is calling tonight
Another thousands of years seems so long
I am just a passenger
And the ride has just begun
Moment of glory
A moment of glory called evolution

SHELBY THE UNIQUE SHEEP |
|
Written By Keri Schmidt-Early
Edited By Pam Schmidt
Read by Gary Burbank
When I woke up this morning I was green. I don’t know how it happened. I tried to cover it up with mud after PJ Pig said that would work, but it just didn’t work. I guess I’ll be green the rest of my life.
Calvin Cow walked by and just stared at Shelby for a few minutes. Calvin had never seen a green sheep before. Then he said, “ The answer is very simple...paint.” “Paint?” Shelby asked.
“Sure,” said Calvin. I saw Farmer Bill painting the old red barn with white paint last week. Now the old barn looks good as new. I’ll bet that white paint would make you look good as new, too. And I know just where Farmer Bill put the leftover paint."
“Oh Calvin! That’s a terrific idea. Paint will make my wool white again. Will you help me?”
“Well…I guess I can…but only so you’ll leave me alone. I want to eat grass in the pasture in peace. “
“Thank you Calvin, let’s go!”
Calvin led Shelby to an old shack near the barn. He went inside and came back out carrying a can of white paint and a brush. Calvin opened the paint can, put the paintbrush in his mouth and began to paint Shelby. After what seemed like hours, Calvin stepped back and announced that he was finished and off he went toward the barn.
“Did it work?” She called to Calvin as he walked off. But he didn’t answer. He was anxious to get in the barn for he had noticed some very dark clouds in the sky. All of a sudden it began to rain very hard. Shelby ran toward the barn, too. After she reached the barn door she turned back to watch the rain. But what she saw was a trail of white paint. The rain had washed the paint off of her wool. She got a sick feeling in her stomach. Another idea that just didn’t work. Shelby was still green.
Shelby tiptoed back into the farthest corner of the barn, hoping that no one else would see her. She laid down in the dark corner. There was no hope. Here is where she would spend the rest of her life, hiding from the world. No one would ever accept a green sheep, she thought. Her thoughts were interrupted by a small rustling noise in a nearby haystack. Was someone there? “It must just be the wind,” Shelby reasoned to herself. “What am I going to do? I’ve tried so hard to get rid of this green wool, but nothing seems to work.” As Shelby was thinking out loud, Millie Mouse was sitting very still in the haystack listening intently to her friend’s sad words. As Shelby fell asleep, Millie went to work.
When Shelby woke up to the cock-a-doodle-dooing of the Randy Rooster, she was surprised to see a big pile of green wool next to her. There was a note at the top of the pile that read:
I hope this will help solve your problem. From Millie.
Shelby was confused. Millie was a very shy mouse and hardly ever left the barn. How did she know about my problem? Then Shelby remembered hearing the rustling noise from the haystack last night as she had been talking to herself about getting rid of her green wool.
Millie must have been listening. With that Shelby looked down at herself. Millie had gotten a pair of scissors and cut all of the green wool off of Shelby. This is wonderful!! No more green wool. For the next few weeks Shelby was happy again.
Then something happened that Shelby hadn’t thought about. She was out in the pen with all her friends around her. She realized that they were all looking at her strangely and snickering to themselves.
“Is something wrong?” Shelby asked nervously.
“What is happening to your wool Shelby?” asked one of the other sheep. “It looks like it is growing in…green!”
“Oh, no,” Shelby yelled in despair. Cutting off the wool didn’t change a thing. It was growing in green again.
Once more Shelby ran to the barn to hide in shame. How could she ever go out again with GREEN wool? But she didn’t’ have long to think about that. The barn door opened with a creak…someone was coming! As the tall figure came closer and closer, Shelby recognized it as Farmer Bill.
Oh no! What would he think of her hiding in the barn? What would he do when he discovered her green wool?
“Is that you Shelby?” Asked Farmer Bill with concern in his voice.
“Yes”, she replied quietly. “How did you know where to find me?”
“Let’s just say a little mouse told me that your were in the barn and that you had a problem. Is there something I can help you with?” He asked kindly.
When Shelby heard the kindness in his voice all her fears went away. She walked out of the corner and into the light where Farmer Bill could see her and her green wool.
“Shelby! You wool is GREEN! It’s BEAUTIFUL!”
“What?” Shelby was shocked.
“It’s great,” Farmer Bill said. “We are all different, Shelby. That’s what makes each of us special and unique.”
Shelby thought for a moment. Farmer Bill was not mad at her. He wasn’t ashamed of her. He thought she was special…and at that moment Shelby realized that he was right.
The world would be a boring place if everyone was exactly the same. Shelby was getting very excited about the thought of being unique.
“What should we do about my green wool?” she asked. “We’ll sell it.” Farmer Bill said triumphantly.
So Farmer Bill and Shelby went into the shearing shed and cut off the green wool. Farmer Bill sent it to a large sweater company where Shelby’s green wool was a huge success. Sweaters made from her wool became very popular and expensive. From then on, no one ever made fun of Shelby’s green wool ever again
Being different is special and being special is unique.

Dream On
Every time I look in the mirror
All these lines on my face getting clearer
The past is gone
It went by, like dusk to dawn
Isn't that the way
Everybody's got their dues in life to pay
Yeah, I know nobody knows
where it comes and where it goes
I know it's everybody's sin
You got to lose to know how to win
Half my life's
in books' written pages
Lived and learned from fools and
from sages
You know it's true
All the things come back to you
Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
Sing with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good lord will take you
away
Yeah, sing with me, sing for the year
sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
sing with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you
away
Dream On Dream On Dream On
Dream yourself a dream comes true
Dream On Dream On Dream On
Dream until your dream comes through
Dream On Dream On Dream On
Dream On Dream On
Dream On Dream On, AHHHHHHH
Sing with me, sing for the year
sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
sing with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you
away
Sing with me, sing for the year
sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
Sing with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you

Aladdins Lamp
Hello, this is Natasha, and Prince Bertie has asked me to tell you a story from a book called The 1001 Nights. The stories in this book were first told over 1000 years ago in Persia by a very clever woman called Scheherazade. The king wanted to cut off her head, but every night she kept him fascinated by telling him a story – and leaving it in a very exciting place so that he would want to find out what happened next. Eventually he forgot his evil intentions, and she kept her head. And this is one of her stories. It’s called Aladdin’s Lamp.
A long time ago, in Persia, a poor boy called Aladdin was playing with his friends in the streets of his city. A stranger came up to him and asked him if he was not the son of Mustapha the Tailor. “I am, sir” replied Aladdin; “but he died a long while ago.” When the stranger heard this, he embraced Aladdin saying, “My boy - I am your long lost uncle.” Aladdin ran home and told his mother all about this newly found relative, and she prepared supper for them all.
The next day, the uncle led Aladdin out far beyond the city gates. They journeyed onwards until late afternoon, but Aladdin did not feel tiered because his uncle told him so many interesting stories. Eventually they reached the foot of a mountain.
“We will go no farther,” said the false uncle - for in truth he was not Aladdin’s relative, but an African magician in disguise. “I will show you something wonderful”; he said. The magician lit a fire and threw some powder on it while saying some magical words. The earth trembled a little and a large bolder rolled to one side. Aladdin saw a flight of steps leading down into a dark cave. The opening was just large enough for a boy to pass through, but plainly the magician, who was rather fat, would not have managed to enter the cave himself. “Go down”, commanded the magician, “at the foot of those steps you will find an open door leading into three large halls. Pass through them without touching anything, or you will die instantly. These halls lead into a garden of fine fruit trees. Walk on until you come to table upon which stands a lighted lamp. Pour out the oil it contains, and bring it to me.”
Aladdin was afraid to disobey the magician, and went down the stares into the cave On the ground he found a ring, and despite the magician’s order not to touch anything, he picked it up and slipped it onto his finger. He did not die. Then he passed through the garden where he picked fruit from the trees. Later on, he found the lamp, just as the magician had said, and he went back up the stares to the mouth of the cave. The magician cried out: “Make haste and give me the lamp.” But Aladdin saw through his trick and understood that as soon as he handed over the lamp, the magician would replace the stone and he would be shut inside the cave, never to leave. And so Aladdin called out, “Let me out first, and only then will I give you the lamp”. The magician flew into a terrible rage, and throwing some more powder on to the fire, he said some more magic words, and the stone rolled back into its place.
For two days Aladdin remained trapped inside the cave. At last he clasped his hands in prayer, and in so doing rubbed the ring that he had picked off the ground. Immediately an enormous and frightful genie rose out of the earth, saying: “What wouldst thou with me? I am the Slave of the Ring, and will obey thee in all things.” Aladdin fearlessly replied: “Deliver me from this place!” whereupon the earth opened, and he found himself back at home. “Alas! child,” said his mother when she noticed him, “I have nothing to eat in the house. We will go hungry tonight.” Aladdin soothed her saying he would sell the lamp to get some money for food. As it was very dirty his mother began to rub it, that it might fetch a higher price. Instantly a hideous genie appeared, and asked what she would have. She fainted away, but Aladdin, snatching the lamp, said boldly: “Fetch me something to eat!” The genie returned with a silver bowl, twelve silver plates containing rich meats, two silver cups, and two bottles of wine. Aladdin’s mother, when she came to herself, said: “Where did you get this splendid feast?” “Ask not, but eat,” replied Aladdin. | |

One day the Sultan who ruled the city ordered that everyone was to stay at home and close his shutters while the Princess, his daughter, went to and from the bath. Aladdin was seized by a desire to see her face, which was very difficult, as she always went veiled. He hid himself behind the door of the bath, and peeped through a chink. The Princess looked so beautiful that Aladdin fell in love with her at first sight. He went home and told his mother that he loved the Princess so deeply that he could not live without her. His mother burst out laughing, but Aladdin at last persuaded her to go to the Sultan and request his daughter’s hand in marriage for her son. She fetched a napkin and laid in it the magic fruits from the enchanted garden, which sparkled and shone like the most beautiful jewels. She took these with her to please the Sultan. After waiting several days at the Palace, she was admitted to see the him. She threw herself down foot of the thrown and waited for several minutes until the Sultan said to her: “Old woman, and tell me what you want.” She hesitated, then told him of her son’s love for the Princess, only at the last moment remembering to open the napkin that contained the magical jewels. When the Sultan saw this wonderful present he was thunderstruck, and turning to the his chief adviser, the grand Vizier, he said: “Ought I not to give the Princess to one who values her at such a price?” The Vizier, who was hoping that his own son would marry the princess, begged the Sultan to delay the wedding for three months, during which time he hoped to make him a richer present. The Sultan agreed.
Aladdin waited patiently for his wedding day in three months time, but after two months his mother, going into the city to buy oil, found every one rejoicing, and asked what was going on. “Do you not know,” was the answer, “that the son of the Grand Vizier is to marry the Sultan’s daughter to-night?” Aladdin, who was stunned when he heard the news. but presently he took down the lamp and rubbed it. The genie appeared, saying, “What is thy will?” Aladdin replied: “The Sultan has broken his promise to me, and the Vizier’s son is to marry the Princess. My command is that that you bring the princess here so that the scoundral can’t have her.” “Your wish is my command” said the Genie, and in an instant the princess was sitting in Aladdin’s room still wearing her wedding dress. He told her not to be afraid, but she was utterly confused and quite terrified. The next morning, the genie took her back to the palace.
The Princess told her mother how she had been carried by magic to some strange house. Her mother did not believe her in the least, and the Sultan ordered that wedding should take place that evening instead.
The following night exactly the same thing happened. The Sultan was furious and even considered having his daughter’s head cut off. He summoned the Vizier’s son. “Plainly my daughter his hiding from you” he said. “Do you still wish to marry her?”
“Well” said the young man who was very proud and arrogant, “If the princess does not obey her father, the great Sultan, what hope is that she will make me a good wife? I give up my claim over her. Better that she marry the poorest beggar if that’s what she wants.”
When the three months were over, Aladdin sent his mother to remind the Sultan of his promise. She stood in the same place as before, and the Sultan, on seeing her poverty felt less inclined than ever to keep his word. The Vizier advised him to set so high a value on the Princess that no man living could come up to it. The Sultan then turned to Aladdin’s mother, saying: “Good woman, a Sultan must remember his promises, and I will remember mine, but your son must first send me forty basins of gold full of jewels. Tell him that I await his answer.”
When he heard this, Aladdin summoned up his genie and soon eighty slaves, splendidly dressed, were waiting in the alleyway outside his house. The slaves were carrying forty golden basins, brimming with jewels.
Aladdin mounted his horse and passed through the streets, the slaves strewing gold as they went. When the Sultan saw him he came down from his throne, embraced him, and led him into a hall where a feast was spread, intending to marry him to the Princess that very day. But Aladdin refused, saying, “I must build a palace fit for her,” and took his leave. Once home, he said to the genie: “Build me a palace of the finest marble, with four and twenty windows set with jasper, agate, and other precious stones.
At night the Princess said good-by to her father, and set out for Aladdin’s palace, with his mother at her side, and followed by the hundred slaves. She was charmed at the sight of Aladdin, who ran to receive her. “Princess,” he said, “blame your beauty for my boldness if I have displeased you.” After the wedding had taken place Aladdin led her into the hall, where a feast was spread, and she supped with him, after which they danced till midnight.
But far away in Africa the magician remembered Aladdin, and by his magic arts discovered that instead of perishing miserably in the cave, he had escaped, and had married a princess. He traveled night and day until he reached the city of Persia where Aladdin lived. Half mad with rage, he was determined to get hold of the lamp, and again plunge Aladdin into the deepest poverty
Unluckily, Aladdin had gone a-hunting for eight days, which gave the magician plenty of time. He bought a dozen copper lamps, put them into a basket, and went to the palace, crying: “New lamps for old!” followed by a jeering crowd, laughing to see an old fool offering to exchange fine new lamps for old ones?” One of the Palace slaves said to the princess, “There is an old lamp on the cornice there which he can have.” Now this was the magic lamp, which Aladdin had left there, as he could not take it out hunting with him. The Princess, not knowing its value, went and said to the magician: “Give me a new lamp for this.” He snatched it amid the jeers of the crowd. Little he cared. He went out of the city gates to a lonely place where he pulled out the lamp and rubbed it. The genie appeared, and at the magician’s command carried him, together with the palace and the Princess in it, to far off Africa.
Next morning the Sultan looked out of the window toward Aladdin’s palace and rubbed his eyes, for it was gone. The Vizier put the strange disappearance of the palace and his daughter down to black magic, and this time the Sultan believed him. He and sent thirty men on horseback to fetch Aladdin in chains. “False wretch!” said the Sultan, “Where is my palace and my daughter?” Aladdin had no answer, but begged to be given forty days to discover the cause of the disaster. This the Sultan granted. For three days three days Aladdin wandered about like a madman, asking everyone what had become of his palace, but they only laughed and pitied him. He came to the banks of a river, and knelt down to say his prayers before throwing himself in. In so doing he rubbed the magic ring he still wore. The genie , and asked his will. “Save my life, genie,” said Aladdin, “bring my palace back.” “That is not in my power,” said the genie; “I am only the Slave of the Ring; you must ask him of the lamp.” “Even so,” said Aladdin, “but thou canst take me to the palace, and set me down under my dear wife’s window.” He at once found himself in Africa, under the window of the Princess.
That morning the Princess rose early and opened the window, and at the noise she made Aladdin looked up. She was astonished and delighted to see her dear husband’s face. After he had kissed her, Aladdin said: “I beg of you, Princess, in God’s name, tell me what has become of my old lamp. “Alas!” she said, “I am the innocent cause of our sorrows,” and she told him of the exchange of the lamp.
Aladdin comforted her, and gave her a small bottle containing a certain powder. “Put on your most beautiful dress,” he said to her “and receive the magician with smiles, leading him to believe that you have forgotten me. Invite him to sup with you, and say you wish to taste the wine of his country. He will go for some and while he is gone I will tell you what to do.”
That evening she received the magician, saying, to his great amazement: “I have made up my mind that Aladdin is dead, and that all my tears will not bring him back to me, so I am resolved to mourn no more, and have therefore invited you to sup with me; but let us try some wine of Africa.” The magician flew to his cellar, and the Princess put the powder Aladdin had given her into his cup. When he returned the magician made her a speech in praise of her beauty, but the Princess cut him short, saying: “Let us drink first, and you shall say what you will afterward.” She set her cup to her lips and kept it there, while the magician drained his to the dregs and fell back lifeless. Aladdin came into the room, went to the dead magician, took the lamp out of his clothes, and bade the genie carry the palace and all in it back to Persia. This was done in an instant.
The Sultan, who was sitting in his chamber, mourning for his lost daughter, happened to look up, and rubbed his eyes, for there stood the palace as before! He hastened over to it, and Aladdin received him with the Princess at his side. He told him what had happened, and showed him the dead body of the magician, that he might believe. A ten days’ feast was proclaimed, and it seemed as if Aladdin might now live the rest of his life in peace; but it was not to be.
The African magician had a younger brother, who was, if possible, more wicked and more cunning than himself. He traveled to Persia to avenge his brother’s death, and disguised himself in skirts and veils so that he looked exactly like a famous holy woman called Fatima. Then he went toward the palace of Aladdin, and all the people, thinking he was the holy woman, gathered round him, kissing his hands and begging his blessing. The Princess, who had long desired to see Fatima, sent for her. She showed Fatima the palace, and asked what she thought of it. “It is truly beautiful,” said the false Fatima. “In my mind it wants but one thing.” “And what is that?” said the Princess. “If only a roc’s egg,” replied he, “were hung up from the middle of this dome, it would be the wonder of the world.”
After this the Princess could think of nothing but the roc’s egg, and when Aladdin returned from hunting he found her in a very ill mood. She told him that all her pleasure in the hall was spoiled for the want of a roc’s egg hanging from the dome. “If that is all,” replied Aladdin, “you shall soon be happy.” He left her and rubbed the lamp, and when the genie appeared commanded him to bring a roc’s egg. The genie gave such a loud and terrible shriek that the hall shook. “Wretch!” he cried, “is it not enough that I have done everything for you, but you must command me to bring my master and hang him up in the midst of this dome? You and your wife and your palace deserve to be burnt to ashes, but that this request does not come from you, but from the brother of the African magician, whom you destroyed. He is now in your palace disguised as the holy woman. He it was who put that wish into your wife’s head. Take care of yourself, for he means to kill you.” So saying, the genie disappeared.
Aladdin went back to the Princess, saying his head ached, and requesting that the holy Fatima should be fetched to lay her hands on it. But when the magician came near, Aladdin, seizing his dagger, pierced him to the heart. “What have you done?” cried the Princess. “You have killed the holy woman!” “Not so,” replied Aladdin, “but a wicked magician,” and told her of how she had been deceived.
After this Aladdin and his wife lived in peace. He succeeded the Sultan when he died, and reigned for many years, leaving behind him a long line of kings.
And that was the story of Aladdin’s Lamp from the 1001 nights. Bertie says that if I keep on telling stories as good as that one, he might forget to cut my head off too. Well thanks Bertie. As you probably know, you can find more of my stories at Storynory.com. I’ll be back soon. Until then, from me, Natasha, Bye Bye!

GOOD THINGS DON’T STAY TOGETHER
BUT OFTEN STAY APART
Moments that we’ve shared, cannot be jotted down on paper
But nevertheless it was chemistry, not vapor
You walked into my life, and made the deepest mark
This ignited my fire, which gave birth to a spark
When you are here, I have the world with me
It is heaven; I wish it could be eternity
We walked side by side
Hand in hand, under the moonlight
The touch of your hand, your presence worthwhile
The warmth that you give me makes me feel so secure
I will be with you in pain; I will be with you in cure
As the sun rose, and a new day just began
You leave my hand and told me it’s all done
I know you have to go, but you’ll stay by my side
That look in your eyes, just seems to tell me more
Though, the parting is a pain, our love seems to grow
You tell me not to cry, but, keep a positive heart
“Because all good things don’t stay together, but often stay apart”
The day is finally here, when you leave me all alone
Like an orphan misses a mother, and a homeless misses a home
The depth in your eyes, your touch and your feel
Is what I’ll miss, I’ll miss you for real
That passion and that care, you’ve showered on me
Are all those special moments, and that’s what they are going to be
If I had to give you something, that would remind you of me
I’d give you a house full of memories
Because memories are things that go deeper into time
We can look back at them and revive all that, lasting for years to go
We’ll build it together and cherish it forever
All that we shared, we’d capture under lock and key
And make a life in that house, which is ideal for you and me
Its time for us to part, you’ll be at the other end of the world
Both of us with a totally shattered heart
My heart bleeds to see you depart
I will wait for you with bated breath
I will lead my life, but I will also fret
Cause without you I am incomplete, the emptiness is there
Only when you are with me again, will that hollowness disappear
As the sun goes down, with autumn all around
Till the waters are blue, I will wait for you
I wish you luck for the times we‘re apart
I will miss you, don’t worry I will convince my heart

Mothers day - inspiring story
about mother
A man stopped at a flower shop to order some flowers to be wired to his mother who lived two hundred miles away As he got out of his car he noticed a young girl sitting on the curb sobbing
He asked her what was wrong and she replied, "I wanted to buy a red rose for my mother But I only have seventy-five cents, and a rose costs two dollars." The man smiled and said, "Come on in with me. I'll buy you a rose." He bought the little girl her rose and ordered his own mother's flowers
As they were leaving he offered the girl a ride home She said, "Yes, please! You can take me to my mother." She directed him to a cemetery, where she placed the rose on a freshly dug grave. The man returned to the flower shop, canceled the wire order, picked up a bouquet and drove the two hundred miles to his mother's house
The Making Of A Mother
By the time the Lord made mothers, He was into the sixth day working overtime. An Angel appeared and said "Why are you spending so much time on this one?"
And the Lord answered and said, "Have you read the spec sheet on her? She has to be completely washable, but not elastic; have 200 movable parts, all replaceable; run on black coffee and leftovers; have a lap that can hold three children at one time and that disappears when she stands up; have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart; and have six pairs of hands
The Angel was astounded at the requirements for this one. "Six pairs of hands! No way!" said the Angel
The Lord replied, "Oh, it's not the hands that are the problem. It's the three pairs of eyes that mothers must have!"
"And that's on the standard model?" the Angel asked
The Lord nodded in agreement, "Yep, one pair of eyes are to see through the closed door as she asks her children what they are doing even though she already knows. Another pair in the back of her head are to see what she needs to know even though no one thinks she can. And the third pair are here in the front of her head. They are for looking at an errant child and saying that she understands and loves him or her without even saying a single word."
The Angel tried to stop the Lord "This is too much work for one day. Wait until tomorrow to finish."
"But I can't!" The Lord protested, "I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart. She already heals herself when she is sick AND can feed a family of six on a pound of hamburger and can get a nine year old to stand in the shower."
The Angel moved closer and touched the woman, "But you have made her so soft, Lord."
"She is soft," the Lord agreed, "but I have also made her tough. You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish."
"Will she be able to think?" asked the Angel
The Lord replied, "Not only will she be able to think, she will be able to reason, and negotiate."
The Angel then noticed something and reached out and touched the woman's cheek. "Oops, it looks like You have a leak with this model. I told You that You were trying to put too much into this one."
"That's not a leak." the Lord objected. "That's a tear!"
"What's the tear for?" the Angel asked
The Lord said, "The tear is her way of expressing her joy, her sorrow, her disappointment, her pain, her loneliness, her grief, and her pride."
The Angel was impressed. "You are a genius, Lord. You thought of everything for this one. You even created the tear!"
The Lord looked at the Angel and smiled and said, "I'm afraid you are wrong again. I created the woman, but she created the tear!"

The Rose Within
A certain man planted a rose and watered it faithfully and before it blossomed, he examined it
He saw the bud that would soon blossom, but noticed thorns upon the stem and he thought, "How can any beautiful flower come from a plant burdened with so many sharp thorns? Saddened by this thought, he neglected to water the rose, and just before it was ready to bloom... it died
So it is with many people. Within every soul there is a rose. The God-like qualities planted in us at birth, grow amid the thorns of our faults. Many of us look at ourselves and see only the thorns, the defects
We despair, thinking that nothing good can possibly come from us. We neglect to water the good within us, and eventually it dies. We never realize our potential
Some people do not see the rose within themselves; someone else must show it to them. One of the greatest gifts a person can possess is to be able to reach past the thorns of another, and find the rose within them
This is one of the characteristic of love... to look at a person, know their true faults and accepting that person into your life... all the while recognizing the nobility in their soul. Help others to realize they can overcome their faults. If we show them the "rose" within themselves, they will conquer their thorns. Only then will they blossom many times over

Below is a touching story about DURERS Praying Hands that is circulated widely
It tells of DURER doing his creation in appreciation of a brother who went to work in the mines to support Albrecht's education |
Back in the fifteenth century, in a tiny village near Nuremberg, lived a family with eighteen children. Eighteen! In order merely to keep food on the table for this mob, the father and head of the household, a goldsmith by profession, worked almost eighteen hours a day at his trade and any other paying chore he could find in the neighborhood. Despite their seemingly hopeless condition, two of Albrecht Durer the Elder's children had a dream. They both wanted to pursue their talent for art, but they knew full well that their father would never be financially able to send either of them to Nuremberg to study at the Academy
After many long discussions at night in their crowded bed, the two boys finally worked out a pact. They would toss a coin. The loser would go down into the nearby mines and, with his earnings, support his brother while he attended the academy. Then, when that brother who won the toss completed his studies, in four years, he would support the other brother at the academy, either with sales of his artwork or, if necessary, also by laboring in the mines
They tossed a coin on a Sunday morning after church. Albrecht Durer won the toss and went off to Nuremberg. Albert went down into the dangerous mines and, for the next four years, financed his brother, whose work at the academy was almost an immediate sensation. Albrecht's etchings, his woodcuts, and his oils were far better than those of most of his professors, and by the time he graduated, he was beginning to earn considerable fees for his commissioned works
When the young artist returned to his village, the Durer family held a festive dinner on their lawn to celebrate Albrecht's triumphant homecoming. After a long and memorable meal, punctuated with music and laughter, Albrecht rose from his honored position at the head of the table to drink a toast to his beloved brother for the years of sacrifice that had enabled Albrecht to fulfill his ambition. His closing words were, "And now, Albert, blessed brother of mine, now it is your turn. Now you can go to Nuremberg to pursue your dream, and I will take care of you"
All heads turned in eager expectation to the far end of the table where Albert sat, tears streaming down his pale face, shaking his lowered head from side to side while he sobbed and repeated, over and over, "No ...no ...no ...no"
Finally, Albert rose and wiped the tears from his cheeks. He glanced down the long table at the faces he loved, and then, holding his hands close to his right cheek, he said softly, "No, brother. I cannot go to Nuremberg. It is too late for me. Look ... look what four years in the mines have done to my hands! The bones in every finger have been smashed at least once, and lately I have been suffering from arthritis so badly in my right hand that I cannot even hold a glass to return your toast, much less make delicate lines on parchment or canvas with a pen or a brush. No, brother for me it is too late"
More than 450 years have passed. By now, Albrecht Durer's hundreds of masterful portraits, pen and silver-point sketches, watercolors, charcoals, woodcuts, and copper engravings hang in every great museum in the world, but the odds are great that you, like most people, are familiar with only one of Albrecht Durer's works. More than merely being familiar with it, you very well may have a reproduction hanging in your home or office
One day, to pay homage to Albert for all that he had sacrificed, Albrecht Durer painstakingly drew his brother's abused hands with palms together and thin fingers stretched skyward. He called his powerful drawing simply "Hands," but the entire world almost immediately opened their hearts to his great masterpiece and renamed his tribute of love "The Praying Hands"
The next time you see a copy of that touching creation, take a second look. Let it be your reminder, if you still need one, that no one - no one - - ever makes it alone

Building Your House
An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer-contractor of his plans to leave the house-building business to live a more leisurely life with his wife and enjoy his extended family. He would miss the paycheck each week, but he wanted to retire. They could get by
The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go & asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but over time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end a dedicated career
When the carpenter finished his work, his employer came to inspect the house. Then he handed the front-door key to the carpenter and said, "This is your house... my gift to you."
The carpenter was shocked
What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently
So it is with us. We build our lives, a day at a time, often putting less than our best into the building. Then, with a shock, we realize we have to live in the house we have built. If we could do it over, we would do it much differently
But, you cannot go back. You are the carpenter, and every day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall. Someone once said, "Life is a do-it-yourself project." Your attitude, and the choices you make today, help build the "house" you will live in tomorrow. Therefore, Build wisely!

Sand and Stone
A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand: "TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE."
They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one, who had been slapped, got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him. After the friend recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone: "TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE."
The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?"
The other friend replied: "When someone hurts us, we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it."

WATCH YOUR LIFE
*Your life - your likes - you decide!!!*
A long time ago, there was an Emperor who told his horseman that if he could ride on his horse and cover as much land area as he likes, then the Emperor would give him the area of land he has covered
Sure enough, the horseman quickly jumped onto his horse and rode as fast as possible to cover as much land area as he could. He kept on riding and riding, whipping the horse to go as fast as possible. When he was hungry or tired, he did not stop because he wanted to cover as much area as possible
Came to a point when he had covered a substantial area and he was exhausted and was dying. Then he asked himself, "Why did I push myself so hard to cover so much land area? Now I am dying and I only need a very small area to bury myself
The above story is similar with the journey of our Life. We push very hard everyday to make more money, to gain power and recognition. We neglect our health , time with our family and to appreciate the surrounding beauty and the hobbies we love
One day when we look back , we will realize that we don't really need that much, but then we cannot turn back time for what we have missed
Life is not about making money, acquiring power or recognition . Life is definitely not about work! Work is only necessary to keep us living so as to enjoy the beauty and pleasures of life. Life is a balance of Work and Play , Family and Personal time . You have to decide how you want to balance your Life. Define your priorities, realize what you are able to compromise but always let some of your decisions be based on your instincts. Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of Life, the whole aim of human existence
So, take it easy, do what you want to do and appreciate nature. Life is fragile, Life is short. Do not take Life for granted. Live a balanced lifestyle and enjoy Life
Watch your thoughts ; they become words
Watch your words ; they become actions
Watch your actions ; they become habits
Watch your habits; they become character
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny
With many thanks to Mrs.S.M

Baby George Macdonald (1824–1905)
WHERE did you come from, baby dear? Out of the everywhere into the here. Where did you get those eyes so blue? Out of the sky as I came through.
What makes the light in them sparkle and spin? Some of the starry spikes left in Where did you get that little tear? I found it waiting when I got here
What makes your forehead so smooth and high? A soft hand strok’d it as I went by. What makes your cheek like a warm white rose? I saw something better than any one knows. Whence that three-corner’d smile of bliss? Three angels gave me at once a kiss.
Where did you get this pearly ear? God spoke, and it came out to hear. Where did you get those arms and hands? Love made itself into bonds and bands. Feet, whence did you come, you darling things? From the same box as the cherubs’ wings. How did they all just come to be you? God thought about me, and so I grew. But how did you come to us, you dear? God thought about you, and so I am here.

.......He paid the price for another man’s folly
One life gone, 2 people dead !
A mother is devastated, she is howling with pain, yelling all she can in that dark and dingy corner of her four by four kholi. There was nobody to hear her yell and not a soul to pacify her, because outside her shack is a long winding lonely road. There was no existence of mankind for miles and miles ahead. The wind was at rest, the leaves didn’t rustle and no resonance of a barking dog, silence filled the air. Loneliness was already killing her, but no one knows what made her cry
Losing something you love with all your heart isn’t really the grief you can ever overcome. Radha lost her baby. Her only means to live. She saw her child getting crushed under a car in front of her own eyes. Blood was all over and the accident was terrible. One lonely night, she was walking down the street t get a breath of fresh air with her child cuddled tight in her arms. She walked a long time s till she saw the face of mankind (in the evilest form
The whole time she walked with her child in her arms the only thing that worried her was Aryans (her son’s) future. What kind of a person will he be? Will he make me proud? How much light is life going to bring in his existence? She was imagining and feeling every day of the Childs growth, and what she had in store for him. But who knows what’s in store for us tomorrow, life can change in the splits of a second. Talk about destiny, all those dreams hopes and expectations were snatched away from her in an instant. Her smiles were frowns and her faith just crumbled, like a deal soul in a living, rather breathing body
This is how it happened…. On that abandoned road, were a few streetlights barely sufficient? There was this one light that was visible from a distance, but as it came closer it got brighter and brighter. That light changed radha’s life into darkness forever. A speeding car came down that road, as if the driver had jammed the accelerator, cutting across the wind. He came at a speek of 110kmph throwing beer bottles out of his half open window. He was definitely drunk, the speed took everything in its path. Just then, there was a loud cry, and silence set in again. The cry of a baby and no sight of a child
Ironically the mother wasn’t hurt, not a scratch on a body, not a bruise on her arm. She opened her eyes and didn’t she Aryan, her vision was blur. After a few minutes when her sight cleared up she looked all over frantically for her baby, but alas! There was nothing. Just then she noticed something about then feet away it was blood draining into the gutter’s, and pieces of minced flesh, laying there saying so much without saying anything at all. The blood of her baby, the child who hadn’t even seen life
He paid the price for another man’s folly. The same little child whose future was just being planned
Simple, don’t drink and drive. You could take a
life, but kill a number of people
A Box Full of Kisses
The story goes that some time ago, a man punished his 3-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and he became infuriated when the child tried to decorate a box to put under the Christmas tree. Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift to her father the next morning and said, "This is for you, Daddy."
The man was embarrassed by his earlier overreaction, but his anger flared again when he found out the box was empty. He yelled at her, stating, "Don't you know, when you give someone a present, there is supposed to be something inside? The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and cried, "Oh, Daddy, it's not empty at all. I blew kisses into the box. They're all for you, Daddy."
The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little girl, and he begged for her forgiveness
Only a short time later, an accident took the life of the child. It is also told that her father kept that gold box by his bed for many years and, whenever he was discouraged, he would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there
In a very real sense, each one of us, as humans beings, have been given a gold container filled with unconditional love and kisses... from our children, family members, friends, and God. There is simply no other possession, anyone could hold, more precious than this

Inspirational love stories - Love and Time
Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived: Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all of the others, including Love. One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so all constructed boats and left. Except for Love
Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to hold out until the last possible moment
When the island had almost sunk, Love decided to ask for help Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said, "Richness, can you take me with you?" Richness answered, "No, I can't. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you
Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel. "Vanity, please help me!"
"I can't help you, Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat," Vanity answered
Sadness was close by so Love asked, "Sadness, let me go with you."
"Oh . . . Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!"
Happiness passed by Love, too, but she was so happy that she did not even hear when Love called her
Suddenly, there was a voice, "Come, Love, I will take you." It was an elder. So blessed and overjoyed, Love even forgot to ask the elder where they were going. When they arrived at dry land, the elder went her own way. Realizing how much was owed the elder
Love asked Knowledge, another elder, "Who Helped me?" "It was Time," Knowledge answered. "Time?" asked Love. "But why did Time help me?" Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and answered, "Because only Time is capable of understanding how valuable Love is."

World is Mine
Today, upon a bus, I saw a girl with golden hair
I looked at her and sighed and wished I was as fair
When suddenly she rose to leave
I saw her hobble down the aisle
She had one leg and used a crutch
But as she passed, she passed a smile
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine
I have 2 legs, the world is mine
~~~
I stopped to buy some candy
The lad who sold it had such charm
I talked with him a while, he seemed so very glad
If I were late, it'd do no harm
And as I left, he said to me
"I thank you, you've been so kind
It's nice to talk with folks like you
You see," he said, "I'm blind."
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine
I have 2 eyes, the world is mine
~~~
Later while walking down the street
I saw a child with eyes of blue
He stood and watched the others play
He did not know what to do
I stopped a moment and then I said
"Why don't you join the others, dear"
He looked ahead without a word
And then I knew, he couldn't hear
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine
I have 2 ears, the world is mine
~~~
With feet to take me where I'd go
With eyes to see the sunset's glow
With ears to hear what I would know
Oh, God, forgive me when I whine
I've been blessed indeed, The world is mine
Two frogs
A group of frogs were traveling through the woods, and two of them fell into a deep pit. When the other frogs saw how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead. The two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump up out of the pit with all their might. The other frogs kept telling them to stop, that they were as good as dead. Finally, one of the frogs took heed to what the other frogs were saying and gave up. He fell down and died
The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and just die. He jumped even harder and finally made it out. When he got out, the other frogs said, "Did you not hear us?" The frog explained to them that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him the entire time
This story teaches two lessons
1There is power of life and death in the tongue. An encouraging ) word to someone who is down can lift them up and help them make it through the day
2A destructive word to someone who is down can be what it takes) to kill them.
Be careful of what you say. Speak life to those who cross your path. The power of words... it is sometimes hard to understand that an encouraging word can go such a long way. Anyone can speak words that tend to rob another of the spirit to continue in difficult times. Special is the individual who will take the time to encourage another
Happiness cannot come from without.
It most come from within.
It is not what we see and touch
or that witch others do for us
which makes us happy:
it is that witch we think and feel and do.
First for the other fellow
and then for ourselves.
شادکامی نه از برون بلکه از درون فرا می روید
شادکامی آن نیست که می بینیم و لمس می کنیم
و یا چیزی که دیگران برایمان انجام می دهند
و شادمانمان می سازند.
شادکامی آن است که ما
می اندیشیم، حس می کنیم و انجام می دهیم
نخست برای دیگر همنوعان
و سپس برای خود.
این هم شعر عجب صبری خدا دارد که به پیشنهاد یکی از دوستانم میگذارم:
عجب صبري خدا دارد
اگر من جاي او بودم
همان يک لحظه اول
که اول ظلم را مي ديدم
جهان را با همه زيبايي و زشتي
بروي يکدگر ويرانه مي کردم
عجب صبري خدا دارد
اگر من جاي او بودم
که در همسايه صدها گرسنه چند بزمي گرم عيش و نوش مي ديدم
نخستين نعره مستانه را خاموش آندم
بر لب پيمانه مي کردم
